Nice piece Sloane. As a fellow cancer warrior, I went through a different kind of isolation. In many ways, I am your exact opposite, always wanting to be around people, because they bring energy and vibrance to my life.

For one week in 2007 I was forced into isolation because of a radioactive plaque in my head. It was not an experience I ever care to repeat, because it gave me way too much time to think about all the things that could be wrong. For that one week, my prognosis was really in doubt, so being alone meant my mind went to all the wrong places.

I applaud your ability to find strength and purpose in your isolation, and I also wish you well for the future, hoping that you are around to write these pieces for many years to come.
