Thanks for writing this. Not only is there very little evidence that fasting beyond 16 hours per day leads to weight loss there is also very little evidence for other benefits such as longevity and reduced risk of diabetes. Evidence for health benefits of fasts in the 12-16 hour range is a bit better but also pretty thin. I think your advice to not go more than 16 hours without eating is very prudent.
