This Heart of Mine

She looked like an angel floating up to me
Our scars they didn’t show
I’ve swam in waters so deep I almost drowned
If you don’t jump back in you’ll never know.

We walked on the sandy road, the stars put on a show.
Running towards something, but running away.
The memories that brought me to my knees
Faded with the dimming of the day.

But time goes by, everything changes.
I asked god, he didn’t reply
I was always faithful, always kind.
but she ran off with this heart of mine.

Open your heart, let the light in
Think of me once in awhile.
If nothing ever comes from this
I hope you look back and smile.

One clap, two clap, three clap, forty?

By clapping more or less, you can signal to us which stories really stand out.
