I completely disagree on this one point in an otherwise excellent write up. Southerners ARE voluntarily removing the statues. Just yesterday Gainesville, Florida took down the statue of Robert E. Lee from their town square quietly and w/o pomp or protest. The city council voted to remove it after hearing from the community and refused to name a date for removal, thus avoiding the firestorm Charlottesville received.
