Movie Madness : The Choice

Travis Shaw (Benjamin Walker) is a charming single guy who knows how to sweet-talk the ladies, yet he shies away from a serious relationship with any of them. Gabby Holland (Teresa Palmer) is a medical student who happens to be in a serious relationship and just happens to move in next door to Travis. And in true Nicholas Sparks style, the sparks begin to fly between the two of them. But life is all about choices, and Gabby has to make a choice between her boyfriend (who happens to be a handsome doctor) and Travis (who happens to be a good-looking dude with a boat and a motorcycle). Oh, the choices we have to make! But that’s nothing compared to the heart-wrenching choice Travis is eventually forced to make.

As you’ve probably figured out by now, “The Choice” is a classic chick flick all the way, complete with sunsets, starry nights, and moonlit beaches. And though I hate to admit it, I am a certified chick flick magnet. I can’t help myself! And if the movie is set in a small coastal Carolina town (which I think should be a requirement for all chick flicks), then I’m totally hooked.

So there you have it. I’m pretty sure “The Choice” is never going to win any awards ever, but it doesn’t matter. When it comes to sappy romances, “The Choice” is my choice. :)
