Actually Lindsey, I do not think that’s the case…for me anyway. If the candidate I wish to put into office shares most of my values, I vote for them. If they don’t, I will not cast my vote. That’s plain and simple.
There is a wonderful Republican senator from Maine, Susan Collins, who represents the way Republicans used to be. This means that she listens and works beyond her party’s lines, connecting with like-minded people. McCain is another Republican who has always worked bipartisan lines. I don’t agree with his views but I still have respect for him as a Vietnam veteran turned politician. Not many of those around.
