Initial Research
Anchorage, Alaska, USA
- Anchorage is the largest city in Alaska.
- Anchorage is home to the Alaska Native Heritage Center, which presents crafts, stage dances, and presents replicas of dwellings from indigenous people.
- Nearby mountains include Chugach, Kenai, and Talkeetna.
- Many trails, wildlife, and glaciers.
- Anchorage is home to many artists and musicians.
- Stunning scenery, no sales tax, and friendly community.
- There are 11 major cultural groups: Athabaskan, Eyak, Tlingit, Hiada, Tsimshian, Unagax, Alutiiq, Yup’ik, Cup’ik, Siberian Yupik, and Inupiaq.
- Alaska native dancing, native games, traditional storytelling.
- Bears (brown and black), moose, dall sheep, mountain goats, beaver, and wolves are all common wildlife.
Winter Olympics
- Winter Olympic Sports includes: Bobsleigh, Ice Hockey, Ice Skating, Curling, Skiing.
- Chosen year: 2038
- 2038 is the unix time stamp. The time stamp will reset to zero and cause a malfunction in computer systems.
- Therefore, I wonder if graphic design will take on more of a traditional art feel with computers possibly shutting down in the year 2038.
