My Summer Beat
My third straight summer at UC Berkeley, this one tops all of them. 12 weeks, 15 units, one summer Journalism minor completed. Well almost… two assignments away to be exact.
Koci Hernandez was my professor for J111: Social Media and Journalism and we were required to focus on a beat for 5 weeks using a social media platform. My project was based on Android photography and specifically wanted to capture nature and wilderness shots. It was a much appreciated exercise; I was able to discover new places, learn about new angles to shoot from and developed a passion for good lighting. I felt accomplished after I edited and posted my pictures on Instagram.

Most of the work required me to go outdoors and see cool, new locations in the Bay Area. I loved doing my homework, but nonetheless procrastinated at times. . . hey its summer & its Berkeley, so cut me some slack.
I’m one step closer. Closer to figuring out where I wanna see myself in 10 years, might me a slow process but definitely worth it. In the meanwhile, I’m gunna keep shooting; video and photography.
