We’re hiring: Communication Intern

The Office of Marketing and Communication team discovers what is best and most important about Marquette University. We communicate it with creativity and impact to students, alumni, parents, faculty, staff and the broader community.

Working with the communication team, the intern will assist with media monitoring, clipping and tracking. They will be tasked with writing stories for Marquette Today and managing an online calendar of events. Additionally, they will be asked to manage social media accounts, research story ideas, and write press releases on events and issues within the university. The intern will share office responsibilities with other students, including maintaining files, answering telephones, running on-campus errands, greeting visitors and other duties as necessary.

Skills: Strong interest in journalism or public relations, with a major in respective area preferred. Strong writing, proofreading, phone skills and attention to detail are essential. Must be resourceful, responsible and have the ability to multi-task. Database software knowledge is helpful. Writing and grammar test will be administered.
