Loving Local with Junebug

This week is all about the beauty! I’ve loved chatting with Kyran from Junebug about all things wedding, including her specialities — lash extensions, brow rehabilitation, eye and brow enhancements, waxing and makeup artistry. More of those “wedding checklist” boxes ticked! Kyran has been in the industry over 12 years, most of her time spent in Auckland but 2016 saw her relocate to Tauranga to be near family (lucky us!!)

I’ve been a client of Junebug’s since her relocation, and have had a set of the 3/4D standard set of volume lashes, 220 silk lashes per eye; which was worth every second lying on the comfortable bed, feeling quite pampered. I was catching my own reflection for weeks admiring the dramatic change.

Meeee!!! After a brow shape and lash extensions

One of my favourite things about Junebug is how they are 100% cruelty free in every aspect. She is super knowledgeable in her craft, offers amazing advice and is someone you can feel 100% comfortable in the hands of.

I’m sharing Kyran’s top tips for those getting lashed this wedding season!

Research your stylist! Most will have a good gallery online displaying their work. Look for clear close up images that show detail. Both open and closed eye shots are great because you can then see what the technician’s style is like.

Ask questions! Even if you feel silly, any professional stylist will answer any concerns you have. Ask about qualifications, technique, hygiene and aftercare.

Be realistic with your expectations — Have a good look at your current lashes, are they strong, weak, long or short? All these things will affect the types of lashes you will be eligible for.

Cheaper is not better! This old chestnut comes up again and again, but it is true and a very important thing to remember when dealing with any beauty related treatments.

Lashes can help you feel like a total knockout just in day to day life, but especially so when you’re a sparkly and glowing wedded-to-be. They’re a comfortable, realistic way to compliment your natural gorgeous self on your special day.

Kyran is great to chat to, so ask her any questions or check out her work via her website www.junebug.co.nz or on FB or IG @junebugnz.
