One night, while praying, young Dag Heward-Mills heard the words, “From today, you can teach,” spoken by the Lord. At that time, he was a 25-year-old medical student with a small church of about 20 people. Since hearing these blessed words from God, the church has grown to become one of the largest in the world. One indication that the young Dag knew he had been anointed by God was the positive comments others made about his preaching. The first sermon he delivered after this encounter was “The Prodigal Son.” Following the sermon, a congregation member remarked to another that there had been a noticeable change in their pastor’s preaching. One way to recognize that a person has been anointed by God is through the positive comments people make about their preaching when they are not present.

About Dag Heward-Mills

For many years, Bishop Dag has been preaching and teaching the word of God to people from all over the world. Born to a Swiss mother and Ghanaian father, his father was one of the famous lawyers in Ghana. Dag embraced Christianity while attending Achimota Secondary School, where he met Betty, whom he considers his spiritual mother. Betty instilled in young Dag a foundational habit that would shape his life and ministry: the quiet time. Bishop Dag has often emphasized that one of the secrets to his life and ministry is the daily quiet time he spends with God. Throughout his secondary school and university years, he fervently served the Lord. He attended the University of Ghana Medical School, where he met and married his wife, Adelaide Baiden. Dag and his wife Adelaide are blessed with three children named, Joshua, Daniella and Paula. Even during his studies, Dag could be found preaching the gospel and leading various groups in ministering the message of Jesus Christ to the lost. In his final year of Medical school he started the lighthouse chapel international church.

The Office of a Teacher

To me, Bishop Dag is one of the finest teachers of the Word. The office of a teacher is one of the fivefold ministries bestowed upon men by Jesus upon His ascension into heaven. Someone anointed with the gift of teaching can elucidate intricate biblical concepts in an easily understandable manner and establish doctrine. Through the anointing of the Holy Spirit, Dag Heward-Mills has taught and written extensively on various topics pertaining to Christianity, such as marriage, Christian living, prayer, serving God, ministry work, financial prosperity, and many others. The breadth of topics he covers is a testament to the teaching anointing upon his life. Another remarkable aspect of Bishop Dag’s teaching is his ability to captivate a congregation’s attention for extended periods. During conferences and camp meetings, he can teach continuously for over two hours. At international conferences, seasoned ministers have marveled at their ability to sit under his teaching without feeling the passage of time. All of Bishop Dag Heward-Mills’ conferences, Sunday sermons, and many other teachings are readily available on the internet.

Camp teachings

One day, the Lord conveyed to Bishop Dag that his most anointed collection of preachings are the camp messages. A camp signifies a special time when a segment of the church retreats to a secluded place to seek God’s presence. During these days, there is typically intensified preaching, teaching, and fellowship. Such days of profound quality fellowship and spiritual impartation engrave lasting impressions in the hearts of the participants. There’s a distinct essence about a camp that distinguishes it from a regular Sunday or weekday service; it exerts a powerful spiritual impact on all attendees, fostering significant growth within the churches. Bishop Dag has effectively nurtured church growth through the strategic organization of camp meetings. His teachings during these camps inspire individuals to dedicate their lives to serving God and cultivating a strong relationship with Him. Throughout the years, many have been motivated to pursue missionary work through the teachings imparted at Bishop Dag’s camps. Some of the titles of his camp messages include “All Out,” “Use It or Lose It,” “The Beautiful Job,” “No Spot, No Wrinkle,” and many others.

Conference speaker

Dag Heward-Mills is highly sought after as an international conference speaker. Annually, he hosts one of the largest pastors’ conferences worldwide, known as the Give Thyself Wholly Conference. This conference is dedicated to training and instructing pastors to effectively carry out the work of ministry. Throughout the years, the Give Thyself Wholly Conference has had the privilege of hosting esteemed men of God such as Benny Hinn, David Sumrall, Dr. Paul Enenche, Matthew Ashimolo, and many others. The primary speaker at this conference each year is none other than Bishop Dag himself. Pastors who have attended the Give Thyself Wholly Conference often testify to the remarkable changes they have experienced in their ministries as a result. A significant number of pastors now have their own church buildings because they were inspired by Bishop Dag’s teachings on the importance of establishing permanent structures for ministry. Many pastors who regularly attend the Give Thyself Wholly Conference have also witnessed substantial growth in their ministries, with some transitioning from single churches to multiple branches. During each conference, Bishop Dag imparts teachings to pastors on various topics related to ministry, including church growth, loyalty within the church, marriage, leadership, and more.

Healing Evangelist and Teaching

While endeavoring to fulfill his calling as a pastor, the Lord impressed upon Bishop Dag’s heart to also engage in the work of an evangelist. The Good Shepherd, as described in the Bible, leaves the 99 sheep to seek the one that has gone astray (Matthew 18:12). He recognized that despite having numerous branches, God was prompting him to leave the majority in pursuit of the one. Over the years, with the Lord’s guidance, the Healing Jesus Campaign has led over 10 million souls to Christ. During these campaigns, many miracles and manifestations of the Holy Spirit occur. Throughout the Bible, we see God confirming His word through signs and wonders when the gospel is preached. At each Healing Jesus Campaign, the Lord has affirmed His word through raising the dead, restoring sight to the blind, enabling the deaf to hear, and numerous other miracles. The teaching anointing evident in Bishop Dag is reflected in how he simplifies the message of the gospel. Many attendees, upon hearing the simplicity of the gospel, are compelled to give their lives to Jesus Christ.

Teaching through books

Bishop Dag has taught extensively on various topics about christianity. A person’s christian faith becomes victorious when he or she is able to makes the effort to acquire knowledge. One reason a christian will perish or struggle is due to a lack of knowledge. He has helped many christians around the world fight ignorance through the knowledge he imparts in his books. Over the years, Bishop Dag has taught on various topics relating to christianity on platforms all over the world. Some of such topics include: the mega church, frutifulness, angakazo, loyalty and disloyalty and so many others.

The teaching anointing on Bishop Dag’s life has blessed many people worldwide. His revelations on loyalty and disloyalty have greatly helped the body of Christ defend against the enemy’s attempts to divide the church. His unique teaching style has enabled many around the world to understand complex concepts related to Christianity.
