Generative artificial intelligence (AI) can think like a banking expert and design personalized offers for dissatisfied customers. In this task, it is advisable to train it with information such as the customer's age, the product they use, the price or the type of business. Virginia Monroy, data & AI technical solutions specialist at IBM, spoke about these corporate possibilities of AI in a webinar organized by the Systems Engineering Department of the University of Lima, on November 29.

The specialist highlighted that the appearance of ChatGPT (Generative Pre-trained Transformers) ―in 2022― marked a before and after, because after its appearance it is common for companies to resort to AI with greater determination and conviction to optimize their strategies. , processes, services and products.

Generative AI is capable of following instructions and creating something new, while traditional AI focuses on analyzing data, making predictions, computer vision, or suggesting recommendations. Both complement each other, the speaker noted.

This technological evolution has gone through the following phases: descriptive analytics (what is the situation of the business and the market?), predictive analytics (what will happen in the future?), prescriptive analytics (what measures should be taken to improve the company results?) and artificial intelligence (how to debug and automate AI understanding, reasoning, explanations and responses through machine learning?).

Regarding the continuous improvement of AI and its reliability, the speaker pointed out that it is essential to follow ethical principles and train it with the appropriate algorithms, which are the indications that allow the AI to perform actions.

Among the tools aimed at companies, the guest highlighted IBM WatsonX, a platform that has a set of AI assistants, who are trained and open to be trained and enhance processes, automate workflows, design strategic solutions and generate relevant corporate content.
