I spent most of the day talking about organisations, in different settings.

What struck me the most is how different each organisation is. The drive is to find common principles and repeatability. But the context is always different, in very subtle or not so subtle ways.

Doing what you did, just because it worked at X, is a risk. The context at Y is different.

We lean in on the solution, but tend to lean out on the problem. This is often the root for new problems down the road.

That’s why cookie-cutters are great for baking, not for much else.
