I think about point #3 it depends how your react to the delivery date. I personally had great success working towards a fixed shipping date with my team. It helps to decide what to include in a release and also how to shape features so that they can be finished in time.

But what you shouldn’t do is fix a feature set and a delivery date - then the only flexible component is the quality and you don’t want compromise here!
