Experty.io — Blockchain For The Consultancy Industry
This is a new ICO that I discovered while reaching INC. Experty.io is listed by INC as one of the top 10 ICO to watch in 2018.
While reading the white paper and going through all the information about Experty on their site Experty.io as well as on bitcointalk.org, my opinion is that Experty is one of those companies that have identified a gap in the current business place for blockchain to fulfil the needs.
These are the type of ICO that usually take my interest as such ICO tends to be well received and it is a real product and not a far-fetched idea that will take years to achieve their vision.
What is a Blockchain for the Consultant?
Consultants typically provide advice to their clients over meetings and one-on-one consultations and they will bill their clients using off-line means. Their rates varies from one to the next and clients are often uncertain how much will they be charged. Receiving payments for consultants can be a problem as clients may dispute the amount being charged, even though the service has already been rendered.
Experty intends to solve the problem in this space. They are developing a platform that will allow consultants, experts and knowledge providers to offer audio and video consultancy calls to clients who can in turn pay them via a smart contract.
The rates of these consultants are shown as per min rates and a smart contract is activated whenever a call is connected between the clients and the consultants. The clients’ wallet will be verified so that sufficient value is available for payment to the consultants before the call is connected.
After the call, payment is paid to the consultants. All payments will be in EXY tokens, which is the in-house tokens by Experty. Clients can pay via fiat which is converted to EXY through the Experty platform.
Consultants will be able to benefit from a platform that can assure them payments while clients will be able to check the ratings of the consultants before calling and they can also be certain of the rates before engaging any consultants.
Acceptance by Users
The success of this platform will be dependent on the acceptance by the consultants and knowledge providers. If consultants can be convinced of the benefits of this system, they will start to use it and their clients will be made aware of Experty.
Hence marketing of Experty to the consultant industry will be a key stepping stone to success.
The other stepping stone to success is the ability to accept Fiat currency. The Experty roadmap indicates a Fiat Gatewway to be developed by Q4 2018. There are still plenty of mainstream users who may not be familiar with cryptocurrencies and a fiat gateway will ese their entry into Experty.
Once there is a widespread acceptance by consultants and their clients alike, Experty will definitely see an increase in their token value rise. The token used is EXY which is the utility token for Experty.
ICO
The hardcap for their ICO is 33,000 ETH or $9,000,000 USD. This is comparatively smaller than many ICO out there. This represents 33% of all tokens (Total = 100,000,000 EXY) and offers a great opportunity for growth.
1000 EXY = 1 ETH, which works out to $1.1 per token.
The ICO main sale will be from 25th Jan to 25th Feb 2018. But I foresee that this ICO is unlikely to run for a month as it is likely to sell out within a couple of days.
