Sketch is great, but it can be better.

Eder, thanks for sharing this article! Even though you propose just a minor and mostly visual changes, some of them might be a great improvement. 🙂 I think this article could be a good centre point of the public discussion about what feedback the design community should provide to Bohemian.

Let me just point out two minor issues I have with your redesign:

• I miss preview of what symbol / text stille will look like when adding it from a tree structure located in the top panel.
• Your poposal of welcome screen although executed very nice affords too much space for Sketch's icon at the expense of Recent (which I think is the most used part of the welcome screen) and Templates.

Also I would like to suggest where we should head with this discussion:

• How to make overrides even better to enrich flexibility of designing component based layouts. For example I miss the option to switch between text colors in the symbol overrides more than I miss a better iconography (no offense, your redesign of Sketch's icons looks nice).
• How to adjust the Sketch UI in order to be able to create a flexible layouts (button components depentent on the with of the text inside, two box components which positions depend on each others dimmensions, responsiveness of components, etc.)

Those are the complex questions I belive guys at Bohemian are asking themselves already. Design community is great in sharing everything and having discussions all the time. I belive that lot of great designers out there have ideas that would help Bohemian to create even better product that we all will benefit from. 🙂
