A collge education with no action is no education of personal value
My mother and I had a long conversion about how most people start school and quit soon after. She explained to me how education can really help people get a excellent career in life but she couldn’t understand how people who attended college and graduated ended up working dead end jobs or not working at all. It just seemed foolish to her.
She was completely right, thousands of dollars in schooling should lead to a better future in a perfect world. I mean, You should get paid for what you know, right? Not necessarily. School is only a tool to teach people how to learn and use knowledge (which should lead to more self education after graduating) in such a way that they are able to chase there goals. Most people think the world owes them something and they are sadly mistaken. No, if you want something in this world you have to gain knowledge and use it as a tool to paddle where you need to go in the sea of life.
A degree is only a sheet of paper in a glass frame on the wall if you went to college four years and work at a retail store, restaurant, grocery store, and any other job that pays minimum wage or a little above. Why settle for such a job if it is not temporarily a stepping stone to sustain you until you get to where you need to go?
I know some people who went through four years of college and are just as ignorant as the most ignorant person you could think of. They gave up on life because life didn’t give them what they wanted. There was no one there for them to complain to about their problems so they took the easy route down the road most people take: working a easy job with less than reasonable pay.
“People who graduated college (or people in general) hold back in life because they don’t know how to apply what they learned in school to the real world. The only thing college taught me was how to learn for myself and grind for what I want.”
I am here to say that it is never too late to pick yourself up and start again. Find a career that you could see yourself succeeding in and self educate yourself on it (find books, people to converse with in that field, and take a few online classes if need be). Time waits for no one so don’t allow your life to pass you by without continuously striving for your goals. And even if you don’t have a college degree the world is still before you if you are willing to take the chance and step into it. Learn, grow, and explore your opportunities with vigorous action or remain in your current condition. The choice is yours!
