WHY WORK ≠ EMPLOYMENT

Michael, thanks for this. You have said this more succintly and eloquently than I could have. I work full-time, yes, but not in my former field and for almost half the salary. I supplement my income as a freelance writer. In some ways, I have less stress in my life, but in others, I have more. Uncle Sam still wants to take 25% of all my freelance earnings, which is a big chunk of change. I do have health insurance through my employer but I worry about retirement, which now seems eons away. I hope 2016 brings us a President who doesn’t fudge figures and is willing to attack this problem head on.
