Accessible Housing and Accessing the Outdoors: Now it’s Your Turn!

The purpose of my words and actions online are twofold. Firstly I want my adventurous actions to show other (mostly younger) disabled people that people just like them do cool stuff. It was powerful when I was young to hear from older people with conditions like mine pushing boundaries. It opened my mind to what the future could hold. Secondly I hope my words shatter stereotypes in society about what it means to be disabled.

Today I’m offering you more input and higher engagement on the big topics. Whether you’re disabled or not. I’m throwing in a leisure and a housing matter. So we’re covering all bases here.

First up is from our Disability Horizons team. We’re gearing up to launch a big super duper guide on house hunting with a disability (in partnership with The House Shop). We want to hear about your experiences of this topic.

Please complete these 3 questions with your views. It’ll take literally a minute. Only. We’ll use your input when contacting the media next week about the difficulties involved.

Next up. A more fun pursuit. I’ve partnered with the National Trust to celebrate accessibility in the outdoors. You not only get to stitch me up by choosing which activity to send me on. Furthermore you get a chance to win £100 of Cotswold Outdoor Vouchers by voting. Click here and decide if you want me Sailing, Abseiling or going on a Horse and Carriage ride.

Please also share this with your family/friends/colleagues. Particularly on your social media. We want to move the needle on accessible housing and accessing the outdoors. We can’t do it alone…

We need you to show the world these are important issues! Thank you for supporting our projects :-)
