Traumatic Brain Injury Recovery
Finding support and inspiration
When I had my Brain Injury accident back in April of 1982, I suppose there were fewer TBI survivors out there. I was only 11 when it happened, I might not have had too much understanding at the time. I really enjoyed the asynchronous communications that were afforded by the early days of BBSes. My speech is slower than the national average, but the written word does not have the same limitations, and are read with the voice of the reader.
I am happy that more people are being made more aware of brain injuries. Many of the books that I am aware of are centered around individuals, there probably will be a “Chicken Soup for the Traumatic Brain Injury Survivor’s Soul” which will soon be available in stores. I think it will be a collection of moderately successful survivors who have overcome, are overcoming obstacles. It should serve as some inspiration for others.
I think that will be a good thing. Yes, Traumatic Brain injury changes things.
