In “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania,” who plays M.O.D.O.K?,

Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lilly will be joined by a new character in the upcoming third film in the Ant-Man series.

Kang the Conqueror and M.O.D.O.K. were both teased in a Comic-Con teaser for Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania at San Diego Comic-Con in July. Fans have speculated about the character’s future in the MCU based on the footage and discussion that have been released so far, but little else is known about him.

Stars from the MCU’s previous and upcoming releases were also on hand to welcome fans at the same time as M.O.D.O.K and Kang were teased. One such arrival was a welcome sight, and offered fans with plenty of idea material when he divulged that he had a role in the huge media brand.

In the first trailer for Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, Bill Murray appeared in an unspecified role. After a teaser about Janet Van Dyne and her experience in the Quantum Realm, the beloved actor appeared at the end of the trailer and sparked a wave of speculation.

As a result of exposure to a mutagenic medical experimentation, he was transformed into the form comic fans are familiar with, and his IQ was substantially increased. He is currently being considered for this role. As a result, the character’s head was too enormous for his body, necessitating the usage of a floating chair. Tarleton renamed himself M.O.D.O.K., or Mental/Mobile/Mechanized Organism Designed Only for Killing, as he emerged from the experiment with much increased intelligence and head size.

For months, speculation has swirled regarding when and who will play the character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Jim Carrey’s star power and comedy skills have been rumored to be a part of Marvel Comics’ Avengers: Infinity War. In light of Murray’s involvement in the video, new speculations are suggesting that he will play the role, and fans are ecstatic. Big names such as Corey Stoll and Patton Oswalt have also been mentioned as possible candidates for the part.

Corey Stoll has already acted in an Ant-Man movie, serving as the film’s principal villain in the first film.. As Hank Pym’s erstwhile protégé, Dr. Darren Cross, Yellowjacket, he portrayed him. His confrontation with Lang at the end of the film led to him shrinking to a subatomic level and being lost in the Quantum Realm, but that doesn’t mean he is permanently gone from cinematic history. If he obtains some support, he could return to the Quantum Realm or perhaps outside of his former jail. If Kang or a similar powerful master does come to the rescue, the chances that Stoll, who has already portrayed a huge villain, will return as an entirely different villain are far less likely. He was excellent in the role of Cross, but he’s already had his MCU moment. The mammoth-headed villain is more likely to be played by a fresh actor.

For years, Oswalt has made it clear that he wants to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe. When I made a cameo appearance as Pip the Troll in a post-credits sequence for Eternals at the very end, he finally got to see this fantasy come true. However, unlike Stoll, Oswalt’s role was sufficiently modest to allow for a future MCU appearance by the actor. He’d be a great addition to M.O.D.O.K., bringing not just his name recognition but also his superb comedic skills and a lifelong passion for comic books to the MCU.

Finally, Murray comes into the picture. In the Quantumania trailer, he appears as a new character, but there is no word on what he’ll do in the film. Speculation is rife that Murray would join Kang in his dark plots as M.O.D.O.K, a role he has previously played in the past. A Murray performance would be on par with Jeff Goldblum’s in Thor: Ragnarok, as one of Hollywood’s most beloved actors. Murray is a great choice for the role.

When it was announced that the character would be appearing in a Marvel Comics movie, fans couldn’t help but be ecstatic. In comparison to characters like Kang, the MCU’s next Thanos-level menace, the character has a lot of potential as a different kind of lasting enemy. M.O.D.O.K is likely to be handled with a sense of humor to counterbalance his menacing side. Murray and Oswalt are more plausible choices because they can provide some levity and wit to Marvel’s occasionally serious plotlines.
