Love and Thunder Official Art Photo (Photo], While the X-Men are yet to make their debut in Phase 4, there are many references to mutants who have been introduced throughout the phase. Firstly, The Falcon, and Winter Soldier introduced Madripoor are key cities that have been linked to mutants specifically Wolverine. The Easter eggs did not stop there. Doctor Strange appeared in the Multiverse of Madness , becoming the first mutant on screen to make an appearance in the MCU. Ms. Marvel also revealed that Kamala Khan, Iman Vellani, is a mutant. This confirmed her origins in the comics. Now it appears that Thor — Love and Thunder nearly featured another direct mention to the X-Men.

Thor 4, Could have Featured an X-Men Refer

Marvel Artist Sung Choi shared a piece from Thor , concept art, showcasing an unanticipated tease about the X-Men. The image shows Cyttorak making an appearance, which is a mythical entity that is behind Juggernaut’s power:

Cyttorak, also called the Destroyer Lord of Oblivion and Master of Raging Storm in comics. Primitive humans consider Cyttorak a powerful Crimson Cosmos character, and worship him as both a God and a Demon.

To unleash his destructive power upon Earth, he will choose Cain Marko to be his next avatar. He would give him the Crimson Jewel of Cyttorak, which gives him his powers.

Will other MCU movies refer to the X-Men before their debut?

This isn’t the first instance that a reference was made to the X-Men in an MCU project. Official concept art by Ms. Marvel revealed that the series nearly featured a Cyclops egg but was removed from the final cut. This is the second occasion that an X-Men mention has been removed. Marvel Studios may have told its visual artists that they are free to discuss their creative ideas and create the set pieces for the film. This could explain why the Juggernaut Easter eggs was included. It could also be due to the timing of the X-Men references. At this stage, we don’t know when the mutants are going to make their debut in the MCU. Many speculate that the mutants will make an appearance after the conclusion of the Multiverse Saga, while others believe they may be in the two next Avengers films. Despite this, the consistent references to the X-Men (even though many are being scrapped) should build anticipation for Earth’s Mightiest Heroes’ introduction in the near future. Thor — Love and Thunder are now showing in cinemas around the world.
