Why should college kids do the Disney College Program vs. Study Abroad

For the majority in college we will have 16 semester’s. 16 semester’s to make these memories that everyone tells you will last a lifetime. Well 16 is a pretty big number…why not 15 semesters and leave that 1 other for something else. This 1 semester, if done correctly, can outweigh all 15 together in unforgettable memories. All college students should or make an effort to have 1 semester of their college career devoted to some type of study aboard program.

But for some of us going to a whole new country just is not in the cards…So what do you do? Perfect solution (drum roll please) the Disney College Program. I know what 90% of you are thinking, “isn’t that just a theme park for families?” well the answer is yes but Disney makes it so much more. Disney is one of the top-companies worldwide and they are truly invested in educating the youth and preparing them to join the “real world”. This program is based off three components: Living, Learning and Earning. Basically meaning you live in the Disney Parks, learn how to be a professional from the best all while making money. Doesn’t sound like a bad gig huh? Because this is Disney and such a massive company, it is by no means an easy application process for being accepted. That said if you are accepted it shows just what type of a person you are and it is an extremely appealing program to be able to list on ones resume.

The Disney College Program is a one of a kind, amazing experience that is often overlooked. If you want to spend a semester out of school but being in another country is too much for you then this is a perfect program to consider, plus it is a real resume booster!
