Love Yourself was an album trilogy by the Korean boy band, BTS. When the first part of the trilogy, Love Yourself: Her, came out I thought to myself that this was a very interesting concept. When I first saw the four versions having different flowers, I felt like it symbolized the innocence of falling in love with someone. But with the title being “love yourself,” it seemed like it was about knowing that in order to love someone else, you must learn to love yourself first.
The next album, Love Yourself: Tear, was a much darker album, making me think that this had more gloomy and sad music. The lines being more curvy and twisty, it seemed like it more chaotic in a way. With the title having “tear” in it also made me know that this was the part of loving someone where there is pain and sadness. After the second album came out, I, as well as many other fans, noticed that the first album connected with the second album.
Then when Love Yourself: Answer, the last of the trilogy, the message of “love yourself” had finally come to a conclusion that loving yourself was the answer itself. With the lines coming together to make hearts, as well as connecting with the rest of the albums, I liked how the album covers had basically told the story itself. Especially with the fans, ARMYs, mostly being in that stage of youth, many of them forget to love themselves. This message had also helped those who weren’t fans either, meaning that this was a message for anyone who needed it.
