The World of ‘Frozen’ opened this week at Hong Kong Disneyland. Visitors are now able to explore Arendelle, Elsa and Anna’s hometown.

Inspired by the hit movies Frozen and Frozen 2, the attraction consists of Elsa’s Ice Palace and Arendelle Castle. With this new themed land, the Hong Kong theme park has the most castles among all Disney Parks around the world — gasp!

There are two new rides in the area, one of which is a revamped version of the Frozen Ever After ride at Walt Disney Resort in Orlando. On this ride, visitors can visit Elsa’s Ice Palace during Summer Snow Day. The other is a family-friendly roller coaster, Wandering Oaken’s Sliding Sleighs, which takes riders through a scenic journey around the mountains. It is powered by Olaf and Sven.

It was less than a year ago that my friend Carrie and I decided to visit Disneyland and the place was half deserted with no queues, and we found ourselves going out of our way to cheer up the cast members! Glad to see that times have changed.

More than eight years ago, a Malaysian academic working in Hong Kong was jailed over the deaths of his wife and daughter for supposedly putting a gas-filled yoga ball in their car, with the cap left unsealed.

In a surprising reversal this week, The Court of Final Appeal on Tuesday awarded Khaw Kim Sun another chance to clear his name by ordering a retrial after it came to light that there were many yoga balls in the home, and several unused caps lying around.

The outcome is unknown at present, but it is possible that the appellant’s daughter had accidentally left off the cap, thus killing herself and her mother by accident. Time will tell.

A weird double bluff scam was announced on Monday. Victims were duped by online sellers pretending to sell dog meat through an app with malicious malware. At the same time, the scammers also give people the choice of downloading malware on another site., which would supposedly let them give donations to an animals’ charity which was fighting against the sale of dog meat. Either way … ugh. Reminds me of my two years in Korea, avoiding the sight of certain market stalls.

Until next week …
