My Lockdown Speaking Engagements

Virtual events are everywhere in 2020 and I have been taking part in my fair share (over 40 since the beginning of lockdown).

This is not an exhaustive list but should give you an idea of what I’ve been up to and provide some interesting content to read and watch!

Bright Network Consulting Virtual Internship Experience

Bright Network received over 65,000 applications to their virtual internships this summer which provided students with access to top companies, practical advice and career workshops. I took part in their Alumni Office Hours and answered questions from several hundred eager and enthusiastic students about the Consulting industry. Really enjoyed it!

The EMpower lists celebrate the amazing work of individuals’ contributions to diversity and inclusion work inside and outside their organisations. As I was awarded №1 Global Future Leader this year 😊😊🙌🏾, I took part in a panel alongside Kanya King, CEO of MOBO Organisation Limited, David Kenny, Chief Executive Officer of Nielsen, Mauro Gregorio, President Performance Materials & Coatings at Dow and on a panel alongside Suki Sandhu OBE Founder & CEO, Audeliss & INvolve. It was a powerful and timely discussion.

How to use technology to foster good financial habits

As we enter a serious recession, money and finances are on everyone’s mind. In fact, Business Insider reported that 54% of consumers are now using online and mobile money management tools regularly! In April I spoke to Kike, who co-runs the brilliant Black Young Professional Network (BYP) about how technology can help us foster good financial habits. Read the summary here.

NYT Show and Tell

In May, I co-hosted the Now You’re Talking Network Show & Tell Event, a relaxing, supportive and open showcase of skills and passions by female millennials. This event was a dream to hold because we know so many amazing millennial women who have incredible skills, ideas, side hustles and businesses but are WITHOUT the following of Kylie Jenner to shout about what they do.

We had over 100 people sign up to attend and it was truly a fantastic evening of #Womensupportingwomen.

Black Women Leaders Conference

The incredible Remi Ray organised the inaugural Black Women Leaders Conference to support and motivate black women during the pandemic on Saturday 25th April. It was a much-needed moving affair!
