The Man Who Never Came Back
When I was in primary school. My teacher asked me what I want to do when I grow up.I said,”I want to fly to see the beauty of the world,”and she said, you will Erick just keep holding on to your dreams.”
As the years passed by,I’ve finally got my diploma, married my high school sweetheart and become a teacher too.Never realized that I’ve not seen my father for five years now.I have been preoccupied by on how to fulfill my dreams.
Five years ago,he left us,leaving with no answer at all.I just finished my freshman year.My mother tried to keep everything as if nothing happened, and for my dreams not to fall apart. She said,”finish what you’ve started I will be here to guide and help you. It’s not for me but for your dreams.”
One morning, should have been my dad’s birthday,a letter came, for me.I have been alienated by what I have read. And the first person who can explain it to me is my mom.
We are not his real family. My mom just asked my dad to stay for me until he can’t do it anymore,so he left.I want to see him though even it’s hurting me so bad.
When I got to see him,I can’t hold him anymore, listen to his voice nor see his smile.Tears keep rolling down my cheeks, while looking at his grave.
Son,keep on your dreams.I’m not perfect and I am very sorry. Please take good care of your mom when I’m gone.I love you and I will always will.
