You’re probably seen or heard the word “spoil” before. It’s a common word in English, with varied meanings, which I’ll talk about more.
📌 Spoil Meaning 1.
You’re having a good time on your day off, but then you get a call from work, asking you to come in, due to a problem. Something like that can spoil your day, in other words, reduce or stop your enjoyment.
This is like saying “ruin your day”.

☆ MEANING 1: impair something, such as enjoyment, appearance, appetite, etc.
✶ We were having a lovely evening, but I got some bad news, which spoilt it.
In British English, spoilt is the past simple and past participle form.
In American English, spoiled is used.
📌 Meaning 2.
Food which spoils or is spoilt has gone bad / rotten and can’t be eaten anymore.
Fresh milk spoils after a few days.
