I totally get what you are saying. And I think you’re right. The ABJ is just beginning to probe the issue. But at least we’re all talking about it. Yes, there’s Vivitrol and Suboxone and Methadone. But, usually, an addict needs some time away from temptation to clear his or her head and decide whether or not he or she wants to recover. Having worked in that newsroom for years, I think what they are trying to do is show the devastation heroin causes in all sorts of families so that “normal” people with no exposure to addiction realize it can strike anyone and anywhere.
