Decisiveness is the quality of being able to make decisions and settle dilemmas quickly. It is a skill that can be helpful in varied aspects of your life such as in business, relationships, family, career, etc. A decisive person can deal with issues or resolve problems quickly, leaving him or her with not much to think about and be bothered about. It saves a person from a whole lot of stress and pressure. You can become more decisive by applying these tips in your life.

How to become more decisive

Accept that Mistakes Can Happen and Be Ready for it

People find it hard to make decisions quickly because of fear of making mistakes. To be more decisive, you have to accept that you could make the wrong decision but that if ever the decision you made is wrong, you are ready to take responsibility for it.

Don’t Overthink the Decision you made

Once you have made the decision, don’t look back or don’t re-think the decision. It will only make you regret what you have decided. Be firm.

Stop Being a Perfectionist

Another reason why people find it hard to decide right away is that of perfectionism. Do not be a perfectionist because nothing and nobody are perfect.

Practice Decisiveness

You can practice making decisions quickly through small choices you make every day, like when you go shopping, what you are going to go on your free time, etc. and decide as quickly as possible.

Stick with your Qualifications in Mind

If you are in a situation wherein you have options to choose, stick with the possibility that provides you what you are looking for.

Take Action Quickly

If you are met with problems that require more significant decisions, don’t wait for the next day. If it entails asking for other’s opinions and other methods, act right away.
