The characteristic feature of this sport are that ski boots are attached to skis by special bindings. There is no need to walk long way like this because all specially equipped resorts have lifts to go uphill.
Snowboarding
Snowboarding was developed in the USA and later became a Winter Olympic Sport. The activity involves sliding down a slope while standing on a special board attached to the feet by bindings. Since snowboarding became a winter sport it has grown into numerous styles. Every style requires its own equipment and techniques. Freeride, freecarve, and freestyle are the most popular ones. They all are used in professional and amateur snowboarding.
