There’s a physics trick to keep your shoes from coming untied
Ethan Siegel

Learning how to tie my shoes as a child, I felt much resistance to “doing it the right way.” Miss Stevens, a first grade teacher intern, taught me the “bunny ears” method — finally, the tying made sense to me, perhaps because there was a story about an animal upon which I could focus. Thanks for expanding my mind to the story of “granny” and “reef.” As an adult, I’m now ready for them!
