Cities May Alienate Women, But Performance Art Points the Way to Reclaim Lost Space
Angella d’Avignon

Woman ARE unsafe and it makes me angrier than hell. Having a hypersolitude attitude isn’t going to help one bit. If you challenge someone harassing you they just become more aggressive. Unfortunately woman down through history have had to take a passive roll because men haven’t advanced in many ways.

I’ve lived alone most of my adult life and I choose it as the best way for me but I think it’s unnatural for most woman. I never feel unsafe. It’s just the attitude I take. It’s courage not hypersolitude. None of my female friends will go out at night — anywhere. Of course you do have to take reasonable precautions.

I think only men can change male attitudes about woman and our right to our own privacy and bodies.
