From the natural, makeup free women, we thank you Alicia Keys

I don’t really have much to say on this topic other than I really applaud Alicia Keys for being vocal about why it’s OK to go out without makeup. People always ask me why I don’t wear makeup- I’m an oddity, a sideshow, a…gasp… hippie??!?

I wear makeup, MAYBE 5 times a year, and I only do it when I WANT to, not because I feel like I HAVE to.

Sure, you could say it's because I'm lazy and I want that extra 20 minutes sleep, or I'm cheap and don't want to spend $100 a month on cosmetics, or I'm not skilled and when I try to apply it I either look like a clown or a truck stop waitress - and honestly, they are all a little bit based in reality, but mostly, it's because at this point in my life, I'd rather have fresh, unplugged skin, I'd rather be able to be outside enjoying life and wipe the sweat from my brow and not have foundation streaks across my face. I'd rather just be me.

Love me or hate me, think I'm beautiful or not, but what you see is what you get... just, natural, old me - no makeup, no hair color or products, no injections, no fillers, no.... nothing... just... ME!
