On the side of the women’s issues of the 1940's–1960's, until the so called “sexual revolution” took place, we had what Bette Friedan so eloquently and analytically described as the “Sexual Mystique.” I’m sure it’s source was in people such as the renowned Dr. Shyrock. (May he rest in piece for all the hurt and damage he did to an unfortunate group of females.) For a really good look at the whole haywagon of socially dysfunctional beliefs of that time, I recommend taking the time to read that tome. It is worth the trouble.
