America is such a generally affluent and increasingly divided country that the average person commenting to blogs has no real concept whatsoever of our nations history of racism and voter suppression. Very few people who are able to just nonchalantly voice their opinion on blogs know anything about poverty and disenfranchisement. I see people saying, “Anybody can get an ID,” and slandering “conservatives” and slandering “liberals” when much of this lies in the realm of simple ignorance. And that simple ignorance is fed and watered by today’s massive resurgence of yellow journalism, which seeks only to slander and crush and make easy money.

It is voter suppression. Stop reading hate news (unfortunately this article’s author appears to participate in some of it) and find out what really goes on in the world. Reality is not easy, but it sure beats all the available alternatives.
