Throw It At The Wall—All Of It!
Whatta week it’s been—you, too? 😜
I felt the weight of so many things I “should do”. I knew in my head they were things I “could do”. But in my heart, I realized I had other stuff that mattered more, at least right now. It was time to make peace with what I “would do”!
In other words, I needed to pick and choose. Otherwise, I‘d feel I failed with getting it all done. (As if anyone can get it all done, right?)
So that’s exactly what I did: I let some things go. My to-do list was unrealistic. It was outta hand and outta touch with my priorities. It’s fine to have a long list. But it’s not fine to cram it into too short a timeline!
This happens when we feel pressure to accomplish. When we compare ourselves to others. When we get weary climbing the hill. When we feel the clock is ticking. Whoops, this is all self-induced pressure, isn’t it!
Which is why we need to remind ourselves that we are in charge of our timeline, no one else! So it’s up to us to give ourselves grace. Adjust it when it’s unrealistic.
