The PokerStars Latin American Poker Tour (LAPT) has announced a historic addition to its Season 3 schedule with the first major televised poker tournament to ever be held in the spectacular city of Lima, Peru. The 2010 LAPT Lima tournament will take place at the Atlantic City Casino from Jun 1–5, 2010 and poker players from across Latin America and around the world are invited to compete for the next LAPT title.

Together we will create an exhilarating event where players from dozens of different countries are going to travel here and find a unique experience in this outstanding setting.”

The buy-in for the LAPT Lima Main Event will be US $2,700. There will also be several new side events in the schedule with a broad selection of buy-ins and formats, including a special $300 + 1 re-buy short-handed (6 max) NLHE event that is in addition to the usual side events and cash games that have become standard offerings at LAPT events.
For the hardcore poker fan, the LAPT Invitational High-Stakes Cash Game returns after a very successful session at LAPT Punta del Este in February. This will again be produced for television and players interested in participating are encouraged to contact the LAPT.
The elegantly appointed Atlantic City Casino should prove to be hugely popular with players. It is located in the upscale neighbourhood of Miraflores, just a few minutes from the Pacific Ocean. The casino has successfully run high-stakes international poker tournaments for several years and is widely regarded as the heart of Peruvian poker. It also boasts a large array of traditional casino games, five-star dining, and a plethora of entertainment options, including the always-popular karaoke.
The more adventurous types who choose to leave the confines of the casino will find a wealth of high-end dining and shopping in the Miraflores neighbourhood. There are also cultural tourist attractions further afield in Lima, and two-day trips to the ancient Incan city of Machu Picchu can be arranged via local travel agencies.
