That’s the number one question posed to anyone who tells their friends, and people they meet, they’re a writer.
I heard Stephen King in an interview say he told people there was a writing ideas store where he got his ideas, other times he’s said, “Well if I knew where I got them, I’d not be telling anyone.”
The last one is right. Though I wish there were a writing idea store where we could purchase the next bestseller idea.
But in truth, writers don’t know where they get their ideas. They can usually tell you where they got the spark of the idea for their story. …
