Workplace by Facebook recently announced a new major customer: Walmart, the largest private employer in the world. This is indeed a testament to how Workplace is helping companies transform and increase employee engagement and productivity in the new digital era.
This does not come as a real surprise to us at Revevol. As one of the first Workplace partners since its launch a year ago, Revevol is meeting business leaders every day from companies of all sizes who want to adopt this platform to make sure they get the most out of it. This includes helping businesses define and deploy specific use cases that create value for their organization; providing training and help setting up IT, change management and internal communications; and integrating Workplace with other systems.
Every company finds its own way to create value with Workplace, but in general we see transformation come in three steps.
First, companies who launch Workplace begin to quickly strengthen their corporate culture, create a sense of belonging and transparency, and make employees feel recognized and empowered. We’ve seen employee sentiment increase tremendously after deploying Workplace, which leads to better performance, greater customer focus and ultimately reduced churn, especially for the talented employees that we all want to retain in our companies. We’ve had some CEOs tell us that Workplace allowed them to better feel the company and keep in touch with the frontline.
Second, Workplace lets companies easily develop new methods of communication and ways of working together. Long gone are email and boring company intranets.Employees can increase engagement and break silos. Consolis, a large cement company with offices in more than 30 countries, managed to connect employees across several subsidiaries. Information flow is also bottom-up rather than just top-down. Companies have access to all the Facebook technologies, including live video, 360-degree photos, polls, and much more. This is possible because Workplace is 100% enterprise-ready, ensuring that companies are secure and comply with all necessary regulations.
Then once the platform is adopted by the majority of employees — usually a few days or weeks after launch — companies start to pursue tangible digital transformation in the way they work, for instance by creating and automating business workflows, and in some cases integrating with existing systems. Workplace quickly becomes a universal communication layer, providing a friendly interface to connect with and access tons of information and functions. Chatbots also open countless possibilities. We helped Groupe Bel create a training chatbot to assess employee skills in a quick and easy way. Granarolo, an Italian food company, was able to create a “directory bot” to link Workplace with their existing systems and send the right information back into Workchat.
At Revevol, we practice what we preach. We’ve been on Workplace since it hit the market almost a year ago. As we have offices around the world and a wide range of products and services, Workplace allows our employees to collaborate and communicate like never before. People feel like they have a voice and are part of the company’s mission. I can personally say that Workplace is always open on my desktop and is the first app I check on my mobile phone. And with my incoming emails down a good 30% at least, it’s also saving me tons of time. What more could I ask for?
