Our executive officer decided to share his experience with us, so let’s read it together!

As an executive officer, I often have to visit various business events and meet a lot of different people. And what do you think: what is one of the most popular topics for discussion?

If you guessed “LEADERSHIP” then you were right.

What makes a leader, and what qualities should a company owner have to become a true leader, who is respected by everyone? Let’s face it: we’re not talking about natural charisma and the ability to persuade people.

“A true leader may have the confidence to stand alone, the courage to make tough decisions and the compassion to listen to the needs of others”.

It’s hard to disagree with this quote. As for me, I’d like to add something to this statement: “a leader must also have the desire to encourage and motivate their team” (if you don’t have enough energy and a burning “fire” inside of you, your team, in turn, will have a zero productiveness and effectiveness. This has been proven by my own experience).

Fortunately, most leadership traits are not the result of a “natural talent”, but diligent and hard WORK. This means that, with time and practice, you too can learn and sharpen those skills. As for me, the most important things everyone should learn if they want to be a true leader are:

🏆self-management — how can you manage other people if you can’t manage yourself? Set yourself precise goals and be responsible when accomplishing them. Don’t waste your time, it’s too precious! Try to spend it effectively. And (what is very important!) keep your emotions in check. Even if you’re annoyed and angry, just take a deep breath and try to stay calm when talking to your employees.

🏆responsibility — if you made a mistake, have the courage to face up to it. Don’t blame others. Make yourself an example of responsibility for your employees.

🏆fostering creativity — doing this will encourage innovation which will steer your organization in the right direction.

🏆 making people feel what they do makes a difference — a true leader is not just a person that can lead. It’s someone who can inspire and motivate other people to do their best for the company’s success. People who feel valued and appreciated will feel invigorated and push harder to achieve success. Keep that in mind when building relationships with your employees, partners, and clients.

And LAST BUT NOT THE LEAST: always remember that successful leadership is built on the people around you. Don’t hesitate to spend a lot of time on building a strong and dedicated team.

I hope everyone will obtain these skills! Let’s become true leaders👍
