We believe that games have become one of the most promising domains in the crypto market (see market stats). Entering the gaming space is something we recognize that our users want.

Why Blockchain Games?
We’ve tried to reflect social behavior within our pools of data. We believe social apps are too early-stage to be on the Blockchain, and the right technological infrastructure is not there yet.
The original vision for Matchpool was to become a leading force in blockchain-powered social networks. Unfortunately, at this time the vision for Matchpool cannot be realized and Blockchain social networks are still a distant reality largely due to a lack of proper technical infrastructure..
We also believe that social apps on the Blockchain need a more focused use case. Hence, the Matchpool team is using gaming components as a boilerplate for the platform and a starting point for all future updates. Once the industry evolves, we will create ways to build more general applications that will integrate with our upcoming game capabilities.
We’re reimaging Matchpool from the ground up. We’re starting by using gaming components as a base for future development and features for the platform. As Blockchain-powered social networks and the technology involving them continues to evolve, we’ll incrementally add new social features to complement the platform’s core gaming components where the team sees fit.

Where We’re Heading & How We’re Using What We’ve Learned
Matchpool will be partnering with a Blockchain games studio, to create games that integrate the Guppy token. The first game is Exoplanets.
Exoplanets Users will be able to Launch spaceships, mine resources and convert it to GUP tokens !
Exoplanets will be the first of several games released between the collaborative efforts between Matchpool and Exolabs.
In the future, the development team at Matchpool will be thinking about ways to combine the pools network with that of Exoplanets game, and hopefully more games to join the ecosystem. We also want to be able to draw connections between winners of different games that will be created, under this initiative.

Basic Rules & Mechanisms of the Exoplanets Mining Game
The following guide is a basic overview of the rules and mechanics of Exoplanets mining game after integrating GUP as the ingame token in the upcoming weeks. Enjoy !
Overview
- The Mining minigame will have a 3-month testing period to gage users feedback and implement new features and retool the game where the development team sees fit.
- During the testing period (Q4 2019), 70–300 (TBD) Guppy tokens will be needed to enter a round of mining, with 1500 GUP available for miners per round, and play (and a small amount of ETH for gas fees) in order to launch a spaceship and play.
- Launching a spaceship costs X GUP (will be updated soon) and you can exit the game and come back as many times as you want, without paying again, until the galaxy refreshes. Every time the galaxy is refreshed, you will have to launch a new spaceship.
- Use mouse and keyboard to navigate or control your spaceship in space. The same controls apply to your drone when you land on a planet’s surface. Use the spacebar to move or stop, and use the mouse to control directions or mine.
- Bring your drone to a planet’s flagged base to send a mining transaction. Your transaction will be sent on the Ethereum Blockchain. You’ll receive Guppy tokens to your Ether wallet.
What to Remember
- For now, the galaxy will reset every 4 hours. When it resets, all players, spaceships, and drones will disappear, and all resources will be regenerated. There is always a total of 1500 resources units (1 resource unit = 1 Guppy [GUP]) available in the galaxy, after every galactic refresh
- Be careful! If you have resources that you’ve mined in your inventory when the reset happens, these resources are lost. Make sure to convert your resources to ExoTokens, every time before the galaxy reset happens
- You can stay mobile. You can land on a resource planet, mine it, and launch back into space. Then, fly to another planet without losing your mined resources
- Every resource mined is worth 1 Gup token. This means that if you mine 20 resources, you will get X GUP Tokens (after sending the transaction!)
GUP is the New ExoToken!
- Pay for gas with Ether. Sending any kind of transaction on the Ethereum blockchain requires the player to pay for gas, which is paid for with Ether
- Use Chrome as your Internet browser. This game is currently a desktop version only, and only works within the Chrome browser
- This is the Beta version of the Mining game. Keep in mind that it might contain bugs and other issues. Please treat it as a Beta version, and let us know if you find any problems
More Useful Tips
- Take advantage of the galaxy reset. You will have more chances of finding resources after the galaxy resets. If you log in a few hours after the reset, most other players might have already mined them, and you will land on empty planets
- Fly to a different planet after each reset. Do this immediately, then check out how many resources are available on the new planet. Some planets contain more resources than others!
