OK, so that’s an interesting point. Now what you are saying is that all self-published writers should be on the professional Olympic level or else shouldn’t exist? I guess that’s the core of the problem here. I mean, with over three million books on Amazon alone, the idea is laughable.
So, basically, you are saying that someone is not supposed to be a hobby artist, a hobby writer? And if they are (shame on them) then they should not dare to self-publish, unless they have already reached the Olympic level and became professionals.
Let’s face it — most of the writers are doing this for a hobby because an overwhelming majority of writers cannot make a living with self-publishing books. Majority of writers are also poor and cannot afford to pay for the professional service, nor does that make any sense whatsoever for the majority of them because it is so hard to get to the point where your can get at least a return on investment, yet alone make any profit.
I made it very clear in this series who am I writing this for — for an ‘idiot’ beginner, just like me, who is overwhelmed by all the information and disinformation that is often published for the sole purpose of making writers pay for the services they cannot afford. So that’s who I‘m writing this for, for the people who have no budget and no time to do 10 years of research, but would just like to self-publish their first book the fast and easy way.
I’m simply documenting my journey. Differently from all too many I’m not taking anyone’s money, asking them to buy (over-priced) services, or selling them affiliated links. I’m sharing this free or charge and I’m only sharing what actually happened to me on this journey.
Telling me that I shouldn’t be doing this, that I shouldn’t dare to share my experiences is ridiculous, to say the least.
