Thank you, Chris, understood. You describe some important distinctions, and perhaps Gender plays a ‘role’ too. BTW, as you probably know, BPD is actually a fairly ‘modern’ diagnosis, and apparently there are still many psychiatric professionals today who don’t believe it even exists, or else think that BPD is just a misidentification of other symptoms.

And obviously not a ‘professional’ myself, but I have the sense that there might also be a ‘chemical’ or neurological component involved, where perhaps the brain is always “on” and over-stimulated even at rest… with simply little room left to ‘manage’ additional stress or avoid emotional “overload”.
