Contemplative Economics: Towards a New Model of ‘Self’-Interest

Very insightful advice, thx! IMHO the other big problem with the “acquisitive” economic model is it also breeds narcissism, by enabling us to define ourselves by what we buy and consume… aka, “I am my BMW, 4X4, pure-bred Corgi, GAP jeans, McMansion, ACLU membership, Coke vs Pepsi, whatever.” And worse, that very narcissism also amplifies the ego’s selfishness and grandiosity, so that we become even further distanced from our deeper aspects and larger Self.
