We overlook the unconscious value of ‘status’ and there have been several studies showing that it’s actually one of the very first, if not the first thing we gauge whenever we meet someone….is their perceived status relative to ourselves.

So for folks who may have pretty low self-esteem to begin with, finding some ‘other’ to ‘look down on’, can be very important. And ‘hate’ is simply a symptom of the ‘need’.
