I do not know how much Arthur C Clark have you read but a part of what we are talking about has…

Yeah, no question the Free Market types would luv to conflate Capitalism with Democracy. And interesting you should bring up the ever-prescient Arthur Clarke, who also noted that, “We have to abandon the idea that schooling is something restricted to youth. How can it be, in a world where half the things a man knows at 20 are no longer true at 40 — and half the things he knows at 40 hadn’t even been discovered when he was 20?”

‘Cuz IMHO that’s what all this growing Tribalism and Polarization is really about, is the tension (aka, Civil War?), between an ever-accelerating rate of Change that demands constant learning and adaption… versus the increasing number of ‘Left Behind’ folks who are drawing a line in the sand and yelling, “Hell no, we won’t go!”

And worse, that ‘war’ ain’t gonna end anytime soon, especially in the next few years when AI and Automation start impacting even the better-edumacated professions. So one way or another, we’re gonna need some new “Systems” to cope. Though where we may part ways is how to get there, whether ‘incrementally’ or thru some kinda ‘revolution’?

One clap, two clap, three clap, forty?

By clapping more or less, you can signal to us which stories really stand out.
