How did each Hokage die?

Hashirama Senju — The First Hokage
Hashiramawas the founder ofLeaf Village, along with his friend and rivalMadara Uchiha. He was known as theGod of Shinobi, for his mastery over the Wood Style and his ability to control tailed beasts. He was responsible for distributing the tailed beasts among the other villages, seeking to create a balance of power and peace in the ninja world.

It is not known for sure how he died, but the most accepted theory is that he died of natural causes in an unknown place, after passing the position of Hokage to his brother Tobirama .

Tobirama Senju — The Second Hokage
TobiramaHashirama’s successor, and the creator of many ninja techniques, such asSummoning Jutsu,ShadowClone Jutsu andEdo Tensei. He was also the founder of theNinja Academy, theAnbu, and the genin squad system.

He died in combat during the First Shinobi World War, when he sacrificed himself to allow his comrades, among them Hiruzen Sarutobi , to escape an ambush by the Twenty Elite Ninja of Kumo. Before he died, he appointed Hiruzen as the Third Hokage .

Hiruzen Sarutobi — The Third Hokage
HiruzenTobirama’s disciple, and the master of the ThreeLegendary Sannin:Jiraiya,TsunadeandOrochimaru. He was called The Professor, because he knew almost all the techniques ofVila da Folha. He was theHokagewho ruled the village the longest, having to deal with the aftermath of the wars andOrochimaru.

He died during the invasion of Konoha led by Orochimaru , who summoned the spirits of Hashirama and Tobirama to fight him. Hiruzen used the Death God Jutsu to seal the souls of the first two Hokage and half of Orochimaru ‘s soul , but not before having his face pierced by the Kusanagi sword.

Minato Namikaze — The Fourth Hokage
MinatoJiraiya’s disciple, and one of the fastest and most talented ninja of his generation. He was known asThe Yellow Lightning of Konoha, for his speed and blond hair. He was also a master of theThunderGod Jutsu , which allowed him to instantly teleport to any place marked with his special seals. He was the father ofNaruto Uzumaki, and the husband ofKushina Uzumaki, thejinchurikiof the Nine-Tails.

He died on the day of Naruto ‘s birth , when the Nine-Tails was freed by a masked man who revealed himself to be Obito Uchiha . Minato managed to seal half of the Nine-Tails’ chakra into himself, and the other half into Naruto , using the God of Death Jutsu . He also left a seal on Naruto that would allow him to communicate with him in the future.

Tsunade Senju — The Fifth Hokage
Tsunadewas the disciple ofHiruzen, and the granddaughter ofHashirama. She was one of the ThreeLegendary Sannin, and the ninja world’s greatest medical ninjutsu expert. She also possessed superhuman strength, thanks to her precise chakra control, and a youthful appearance, thanks to her Renewal Creation Jutsu. She was the first woman to becomeHokage, and the one responsible for rebuildingLeaf VillagePain’s invasion. She survived the Fourth Shinobi World War but lost herHokageafter falling into a coma from overusing his Renewal Creation Jutsu to save his comrades’ lives. She was replaced by Kakashi Hatake , who became the Sixth Hokage .

She is still alive in Boruto , but is now elderly and retired.

Kakashi Hatake — The Sixth Hokage
Kakashiwas the son ofSakumo Hatake, a legendary ninja known asThe White Fang of Konoha. He was Minato’s disciple, and the leader of Team 7, consisting ofNaruto,SasukeandSakura. He was a ninja prodigy, who became a jounin at age 13, and who copied over a thousand techniques with hisSharingan, which he received from his friendObito Uchiha. He was also one of the few ninja who managed to awaken theMangekyou Sharingan, which granted him powers such as Kamui, which allowed him to send objects to another dimension. he becameHokage after the Fourth Shinobi World War, playing an important role in defeating Kaguya Otsutsuki and reconciling Naruto and Sasuke .

He ruled the village during a period of peace and prosperity, until he handed over to Naruto , who became the Seventh Hokage . He is still alive in Boruto , but no longer has the Sharingan.

Naruto Uzumaki — The Seventh Hokage
Narutowas the son ofMinatoandKushina, and thejinchurikiof the Nine-Tails. He grew up being rejected and ignored by most of the residents ofVila da Folha, but he never gave up on his dream of becomingHokageand being recognized by everyone. He was Jiraiya’s disciple, and the protagonist of theNaruto. He developed several powerful techniques, such as theRasengan, Sage Mode, Kurama Mode, and Six Paths Mode. He was also one of those responsible for defeating the greatest villains in the ninja world, such asOrochimaru,Pain, Obito , Madara and Kaguya . He became Hokage after the Fourth Shinobi World War, having the support and admiration of all ninja and civilians alike. He is married to Hinata Hyuga , and has two children: Boruto and Himawari .

He is still alive in Boruto , but is in danger of dying in the near future, as he used a forbidden jutsu called Baryon Mode to fight Isshiki Otsutsuki , which drastically reduced his lifespan.
