The Best Relaxation Videos

These days we all watch too much TV and movies, play too many video games, stare at phones and tablet screens too much and sit at desks gazing at computers for work.

Sometimes it pays to take a break and disconnect. Personally I find it very difficult to do this with something like reading a book or meditation. The reason is because I have a shortened attention span. So I choose an easier option with faster gratification, such as picking up my tablet or watching TV.

I realized my attention span had gone worse whilst trying to read a book- I just couldn’t stay focused and found myself re-reading sentences. A quick search on Google got me to an article on Time which says that the average person’s attention span has reduced from 12 seconds to 8 seconds.

Then I discovered the world of relaxation videos. Specifically ones made by Uscenes. Santa bought me a lovely big Samsung UHD SMART TV this Christmas and I have resisted the temptation to use it too much by playing relaxation videos on it instead.

The above video is a 4K Ultra HD fireplace. Very relaxing especially when it is cold. For some reason it makes a room feel cozier and less cold. The video is downloaded and then looped by pressing repeat. I just plug in a USB flash drive with the video on, then press play on my SMART TV’s media player. At 3.5 GB the file isn’t small, but it is worth the download for the super high resolution.

The above video is my favorite fish tank. They actually re-made this one after a few negative comments about the audio. It now has 5.1 surround sound and a more relaxing and enjoyable audio track. On my home theater it sounds awesome and makes me feel very relaxed.

The above video is an amazing large aquarium. It is a shark tank with manta rays, sting rays, lots of different types of sharks and loads more big fish. When the other one is too bright for me; I use this one. It also has 5.1 surround sound and that helps create a very immersive experience. It almost feels like I am scuba diving with the sharks.

The above video is a picture postcard view of a tropical beach. It is the only one not made by Uscenes on this page. This is the one I use on my computer screen when I need a quick break from work. I like to sit back and chill out with the sound of the sea and gaze at the paradise setting occasionally. This one has had 5 million views on Youtube, it is easy to see why it is so popular. There are adverts in this one, which is the only downside.

Do you have any favorite relaxation videos? I am always on the lookout for new ones and would love any suggestions.
