What is Symmetric Cryptography?

Symmetric cryptography, also known as shared secret cryptography, is a type of cryptography in which the same key is used to encrypt and decrypt the data. This means that the sender and receiver of the message must both have a copy of the key in order to communicate securely.

One of the most well-known symmetric algorithms is the Advanced Encryption Standard (AES), which is widely used to encrypt data in transit and at rest. Other examples of symmetric algorithms include Blowfish, DES (Data Encryption Standard), and 3DES.
